TOUCH POINTS IS A COLLECTION OF 29 PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS BY QUEENS-BASED ARTIST, ALEX KARPA.
This series aims to consider how we remain organic, tangible, and malleable beings in this built and structured world. Whether residing in urban or rural spaces, being human means to simultaneously navigate different types of terrain, and to participate in these both literal and figurative landscapes as active or passive observers. Touch Points attempts to reconcile the constant flux of living and breathing, with the real and imagined boxes we live in, and lines we draw around ourselves and others. Shapes, soft tones, various textures, and lines combine to describe where these natural and manmade terrains begin, end, and meet.
